We decided to do only one tour and it’s to the Great Ocean Road on Saturday.  Today we went to the Victoria Market again because it is so much fun.  We learned something rather fascinating today . . . remember I said they have to set up every day?  Well, they set up in a different spot each day.  No wonder we couldn’t find the same vendors in the same place!  Another lesson in ‘buy it when you see it’ because you may not pass that way again.

Mom and I spent at least an hour visiting with a friend of my friend Ozden from Istanbul.  Marcus Falay use to work for Ozden as a tour guide in Istanbul in 1992.  Marcus bought us our breakfast in the food court of Victoria Market this morning.  He moved to AU in 1994 and even sounds like an Aussie now.  His travel agency specializes in tours of Turkey.  Check it out at www.fairychimneys.com.au

We’re going out for dinner on Lygon Street again because it’s close and it every kind of restaurant possible.  In the early 1900s many Italians settled in Carlton (the suburb where our hotel is) and over the years have made Lygon Street their own.  So, we’re going to honor the Italian settlers and have pasta tonight.

  3. Jean and Mom,

It sounds like you are having a marvelous time.

I see Mom is sporting 2 new rings. Nice!!!

Dora Mae called yesterday. I think she is missing Mom. She wanted to know if I had heard from her. Have you sent her a postcard? I told her to have Brent help her get onto Your blog so she could see some pictures and read your blog. She was kind of excited. She said her niece was coming on the 4th and she wouldn’t be able to come to OK City with us to pick you up.

    Love you,
    Linda
